Before coming to Clarkson, Yu Liu was a research scientist at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) where, sponsored by the funding of Federal Science & Technology Programme of the Government of Canada, he worked in the field of computer architecture, high performance computing, wireless sensor network, embedded and real-time systems, and their interdisciplinary research with the nuclear science. At the same time, he provided academic advice regarding the research of graduate and undergraduate co-op students in Canada.
Prior to that, Yu Liu was a software developer for IBM in Markham, Ontario. He developed grid computing, Big Data and high-performance computing solutions for data-intensive computing, job management, and scheduling. In addition, Yu Liu was a senior software engineer for Motorola in Chengdu, China. He worked on the two-way radio embedded software development and software engineering process optimization.
He has 15 years of professional experience with different OS based software development, and project management in different industry sectors - e.g., Motorola, IBM - as well as experience teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in computer engineering.
Yu Liu has written extensively for professional journals as well as conference and workshop papers.
